Delray Beach Police Sergeant Adam Rosenthal Kill in Squad Car Vs. Tree Crash

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies, Boca Raton police, Delray Beach police and Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:15 a.m. Thursday to Southwest 18th Street, west of Boca Raton near Boca Rio Road, to a report of a police cruiser wrapped around a palm tree with an injured officer trapped inside.

Delray Beach police sergeant Adam Rosenthal was alive inside the squad, and firefighters worked efficiently to extricate him from the wrecked police car. He was transported to Delray Medical Center via a Trauma Hawk helicopter. He died en route or shortly after he arrived at the hospital.

The crash is under investigation.
